This week’s California cannabis updates are from La Mesa, Corning, Oxnard, and the Bureau of Cannabis Control.

Here’s are the headlines and events coming up for cannabis operators around the state. 

La Mesa, California

The City Council proposed a draft ordinance to allow recreational cannabis businesses to operate in the city’s jurisdiction. La Mesa will be holding a workshop to present the draft ordinance soon. Corning, California

The Corning City Council is reaching a final reading of their cannabis ordinance, which covers adult-use cannabis cultivation, manufacturing, processing, lab testing, labeling, storing, and more. The final ordinance will be read and discussed with the public on August 13, 2019 at 6:30PM. The public is welcome to attend, and if you would like to know what Corning’s cannabis future looks like, go to the City Council Chambers at 794 Third Street to participate. 

Oxnard, California

Oxnard opened a 60-day competitive commercial cannabis application window on August 12. Please download and review the application here. Applications are due by 5PM on October 10, 2019. The review will involve many steps; if you would like to compete for a cannabis license in Oxnard, get in touch with our experts to get a head start on this application.

Bureau of Cannabis Control 

The California State Bureau of Cannabis Control released two fact sheets regarding cannabis distribution in the state. These fact sheets cover updates related to two types of distributor licenses: Type 11, Cannabis Distributor, and Type 13, Distributor Transport Only.
